16 Cheyne Walk is the house owned by the Lamb family and is central to the story in the past and present. Located in Chelsea, a posh suburb near London, the Cheyne Walk house is beautiful, even when Libby sees it for the first time after it has been boarded up for 25 years. Even though it is an eyesore, there is still something attractive about it to Libby. However, once she goes inside, the house feels confining and coffin-like.
