Summary
Part IV of the novel opens with Chapter 64, which describes how Libby is selling the Cheyne Walk house. A buyer from South Africa paid in cash, and Libby got 7,450,000 thousand pounds from the sale of the house. However, she only has about 300 pounds in her bank account, which are "[t]he dregs of her last paycheck" (325). She is working her last day at her job, and it is her real twenty-sixth birthday. She takes Dido out for lunch. Libby gets a text from Lucy, who is now living with Henry. However, the two siblings are squabbling, and his cats hate Fitz. Libby is planning a move to "a beautiful Georgian cottage in half an acre just on the outskirts" of St. Albans (326). She plans on splitting the money three ways between herself, Lucy, and Henry.
