Summary

Chapter 64 commences with Henry talking about how he looked after Serenity. Henry figured out Lucy and Phin were not coming back. Henry knew someone would likely be coming to check on the household and finished the fake suicide letter. He added Serenity's name and age and asked that she go to live with nice people. He gave her Justin's lucky rabbit's foot. He claims he wanted the best for Serenity because she was "the only truly pure thing in that house, the only good thing to come out of any of it" (315). He kissed Serenity goodbye and left out of the back of the house, dressed in his father's designer suit and shoes. It was Henry who dialed 999 and, in a feigned voice, he pretended to be a concerned neighbor of the Lambs.
