Summary
Libby and Miller meet at their cafe on West End Lane to talk about 'Phin' in Chapter 46. Libby watches Miller as he eats, finding it "strangely attractive" that he "eats as though there is nothing else he would rather being doing" (238). Miller shows Libby his data on Birdie, whose real name was Bridget Elspeth Veronica Dunlop-Evers." She studied violin at Royal College of Music and busked on the weekends before joining a band called Green Sunday. She later joined the band Original Version and got into a relationship with Justin Redding. Interviews showed that she was "quite controlling" and that "[n]obody liked her" (239). She took Justin along with her after she left the band, following a big blow-up where she blamed everyone else for their single's failure. After that, Birdie was never heard from again.
