Summary
"A Nice Chinese Boy" opens as James brings Alice to his room, self-conscious of the mess and his worthless trophies. She says that her mother thinks Winnie left Leo because she could no longer stand him. James says Winnie and Leo often fought over Winnie's generous attitude and expensive tastes. Alice admits she feels tied to her mother who would approve of a relationship with James because he will likely return to Haven as a doctor. However, Alice is starting to cherish her art and wants to leave. The two kiss, but James's body reacts too soon and Alice says they can try again later. Alice admits that Dagou has ran up a debt the store cannot afford. As they make out again, James hears the phone and notices the Ford is gone. Mary tells him Winnie has had a stroke...
