Summary

Chapter 25 continues with a grand feast, and Luzia notes that Donadei looks as uncomfortable as she feels. Afterward, Hualit accompanies Luzia to her room and introduces a maid named Concha who will keep Luzia’s secrets from everyone except Vίctor. After Hualit leaves, Santángel arrives, furious that Luzia lied. Luzia points out that he assumed she was ignorant, but Santángel argues that she performed the role of a demure servant so well that even she has started to believe it.

When he asks what other secrets she is hiding, she demands to know what he is. Santángel calls himself a familiar whose powers exist to serve others, but does not confirm if he made a deal with the devil. He demands to know what she will tell the Vicar about her magic, but their argument is cut short when...
