Chapter 20 Summary

John takes control of the men that are still alive. He briefs them all on the plan to provide medical attention to the wounded and to plan an attack on the Covenant. The Blue Team runs into some Grunts that haven't spotted the Spartan yet but are heading straight for the Marine bunker. John orders the team to fight. As they kill some of the Grunts and move into the sewer system, John and his group run into aliens like they have never seen before. These are sluglike aliens with tentacles rather than bipeds.

One of the Spartan teams locates 20 human survivors, of which some are wounded. John has to change the plan because his instructions are that he cannot engage in taking out the Covenant if there are humans on the planet. When two of the teams are assigned to move the...
