Chapter 11 Summary

Back on planet Reach, the Spartans are called to muster in their dress uniforms. This is something they typically do for funerals, so John is wondering who died. John is also wearing the Purple Heart he was awarded after his last mission.

Admiral Stanforth enters and introduces the IA Beauwolf. He tells the Spartans about the Harvest colony and Beauwolf projects pictures onto the screen. An unidentified object was identified around the colony. When ships are sent in to investigate, some of these ships go missing. Pictures of the planet after reveal that is desert-like and barren, also indicating that the inhabitants are dead. The unidentified object is identified as an alien ship. The technology it possesses are far beyond that of the human fighters. The Admiral says the aliens didn't attack until the humans initiated contact with the ship. The alien race...
