Chapter 9 Summary

The Spartans are assembled in a meeting room when Dr. Halsey and Mendez enter. Dr. Halsey informs the Spartans that they have been assigned to a mission: an insurgent base in the Eridanus System. The doctor explains that a previous battle stopped the insurgents, but that a group of rebels escaped and is believed to have built a base in a hollowed out asteroid. The Office of Naval Intelligence also believes that an insurgent sympathizer is leaking information to the rebels. The mission is to infiltrate one of the ships believed to be heading toward the rebel base. Once they are there, they are to capture the rebel leader to be brought back for questioning.
