Chapter 2 Summary

Dr. Halsey and the Lieutenant enter the school disguised as parents. They locate the boy they are there to observe. Dr. Halsey approaches the subject to test him in a coin toss game. After the game. Dr. Halsey leaves Number 117. She explains to the Lieutenant that she was testing the boy. She verifies with the Lieutenant that he recorded her interaction with the boy and they return to the ship.

Chapter 2 Analysis

The doctor is looking for subjects for her project. Somehow she has gotten a lead on Number 117. She tests him to verify that the information she has heard is true and correct.
