Chapter 13
Colonel Kassad is alone, diving between the walls of the Time Tombs as he exchanges shots with an unseen sniper. He pours everything he has into a salvo that sets fire to the Crystal Tomb. He enters the tomb and looks up a shaft to the top of the tower, spotting a figure silhouetted against the open sky. Kassad climbs the stair on the inside of the tower.
Chapter 14
Severn attends a dinner on God's Grove, the home planet of the Templars. Severn finds himself seated with two people with direct ties to the Hyperion pilgrims. Father Edouard, Catholic priest and former friend of Father Paul Duré and Tyrena Wingreen-Feif, the publishing magnate who first published the works of Martin Silenus.
