Summary

This text, called Tuor and the Fall of Gondolin, was written in 1951. Rien, the wife of Huor, rushes to The Battle of Unnumbered Tears to find her husband. On the way, she bears a son while staying with the grey-elves and names him Tuor. She asks the eleves to protect her son for she believes he will save both the humans and elves in the future. They tell her that her husband is dead, but she still leaves to try and find him.

Over the years, as Morgoth betrays many promises to his followers, things become more difficult as the angry servants harass the Elves. Tuor’s protector, Annael, leads them to the caves. A 16-year old Tuor wishes to fight, but Annael refuses and says they must head south and try to get to the gate of Noldor made by Turgon years...
