Summary
Christopher introduces text he included in Silmarillion. Written in 1930, this version of The Fall has no other known drafts or outlines. While more compressed than the main tale, it was not written without care. Christopher says there are two versions: the first he calls Q I that was published, and a second, Q II, which is actually complete. A few details have been changed in this version, and Christopher includes all relevant revisions.
