Graves Glen, Georgia

The entirety of The Ex Hex takes place in the fictional town of Graves Glen, Georgia. Vivi loves the town she grew up in, where she was raised by Aunt Elaine. The town was founded by Rhys’ ancestor Gryffud Penhallow with the help of Vivi’s ancestor Aelwyd Jones. Many witches live in Graves Glen, which is why there are so many Halloween-themed stores, like Coffee Cauldron and Something Wicked.

Penhaven Manor

Penhaven Manor is the Penhallow family home in Dweniniaid, Wales. The narrator describes, “The house didn’t so much sit on the hill as it crouched on it, only two stories tall, but sprawling, a warren of dark hallways and low ceilings and shadowy corners” (14). It is truly a “terrifying, uncomfortable, medieval wreck of a home” (14). Rhys hates the house with all his heart because it reminds him of his cruel and cold father...
