Summary

In Chapter 22, Vivi lights the Eurydice Candle to trap Piper’s ghost. Piper appears, hissing Rhys’ last name. Before getting sucked into the candle, she tells Rhys he must give back what the Penhallows took.

Vivi and Rhys drop the candle off at Something Wicked in Chapter 23. It is two in the morning. Vivi is proud of their efforts. The romantic lighting of the storeroom inspires her to flirt with Rhys. He confesses that he is still “mad” about her, just as he was all those years ago (116). She kisses him. They have sex. Vivi wishes their connection was based off that alone, since it would make it easier for her to bear Rhys eventually leaving.
