Summary

In Chapter 8, Vivi tells Gwyn that she thinks they cursed Rhys. Gwyn denies it. She accuses Vivi of still liking Rhys. Rhys emerges from the storeroom and asks Vivi about where shy got the scrying mirror from. She remembers that he is an excellent listener. They arrange to meet at Something Wicked that evening before going to charge the ley lines.

That evening, Vivi drives Rhys to a hilly area in the town. Vivi is nervous to see the ley lines on account of her relative inexperience with magic. Rhys reassures Vivi and asks her about her mother. Vivi tells him her mother refused to use magic.

Rhys helps Vivi out of the car and into a cave in Chapter 9. Rhys gets them lost. It is Vivi who locates the hidden opening that they need to find. They enter a secret chamber where...
