Summary
Part three once again opens up with a third person narration which overlooks the current happenings of all of the characters in different locations. There is Naomi who lies on the banks of leviathan reciting solstice spells and is directly juxtaposed with Joanna who has stayed late at her school desk. Stella is walking home covered in blue and she thinks of how the children will want to eat, but she cannot stand the though of food and it disgusts her to even briefly think of it. In his study Will is sleeping with a letter that he has never finished writing, while elsewhere Martha is peeling eggs, since Cora is planning a midsummer party. Will visits Cracknell because he is getting more sickly by the day, and over in Colchester Taylor meets Luke who tells him that he would have...
