Summary
Jules wonders whether time is eternal, that one could always live in the same memory forever. If that is true, Jules could always be out on walks with his father or always be with Alva on their trip to Italy. It takes a few weeks before Liz finds out about Jules' accident, and once she arrives, she and Jules go to Alva's grave. Jules missed the funeral because of the accident and begins to feel an intense pressure without Alva in his life. He thinks back to the accident, how he was listening to music, and with Alva's death on his mind, had tried to let go of the handle to feel a flying, freeing sensation, only to veer back at the last second. After being discharged, Jules moves back home where Liz is staying with him temporarily. The children, seeing Jules struggle...
