Summary

Jules awakens to find himself in the hospital, musing about his long relationship with Death. Looking at his body's broken states, he sees fragmented images of a motorcycle accident. There is an incident before the accident that he ignores, instead focusing on memories of his family. He dreams of being with his wife in Italy, watching their children as they play. Once awake, he is told that his family has not been informed of the accident. Alone in silence, Jules wanders down memory lane, all the way to the beginning when tragedy struck his life.
