The note

The note is left by someone in Mark's hospital room after his accident. The note says: I am No One; but Tonight on North Line Road; GOD led me to you; so You could Live; and bring back someone else. All through the book, Mark works to find the originator of the note thinking it will lead him to some explanation of his accident. At the end of the book, Barbara Gillespie tells Mark that she was the cause of his accident and he wrote the note when he was not able to speak. Barbara left the note on Mark's bedside table when Mark sliped into a coma.

Cranes

The sandhill cranes come back to Kearney, Nebraska for about 6 weeks each year at the end of winter. Each year about half a million of the cranes stop on the Platte River on their migration back...
