Summary
Dr. Weber navigates the Lincoln airport, all the news stations blaring stories about the war in Iraq. In the Chicago airport, more of the same. Finally airborne on his way to New York, Dr. Weber is conscious of the forms of life surrounding him, insects in the plane's wiring, fungus in the cabin's lining and seeds in the cargo hold. Dr. Weber recalls saying goodbye to Mark in his hospital room, and he gives the doctor a copy of My Antonia to read on the plane. Mark tells Dr. Weber that he cannot understand what he is supposed to do with the fact that he was Barbara's savior.
