Basset House

Basset House is the house in London where Simon and his nurse go when he is eleven to show Simon’s father that Simon can speak properly. Simon learns when he arrives at this house that his father told the servants there that Simon was dead. He was so upset by the time he tried to talk to his father that he was not able to speak without stuttering. As a result, Simon’s father told him that there was no place for him there.
