Summary
In Chapter 14, Whistledown repeats the words of Hyacinth, Daphne’s youngest sister, that Daphne and Simon laughed aloud during their wedding ceremony in her scandal paper.
Following the wedding, Daphne was disappointed when Simon told her he had planned for them to travel to Clyvedon Castle, where they would be spending several weeks, that night. After she made voiced her concerns, Simon agreed they would spend the night at an inn about halfway to the castle. In the hotel room, Daphne finally admitted to Simon she was nervous about their wedding night. Simon told her not to worry, that they would wait until they reached Clyvedon before they would consummate the marriage. Simon realized Daphne was disappointed when she asked him why they were waiting.
Daphne put her hand over her mouth and apologized to Simon because she feared she had offended him...
