He asked Aurore not to take a winter vacation with Chopin so they could complete the paperwork making him officially in charge of Nohant. Her relationship with Solange grew worse when she took in a cousin whose mother was pushing her into prostitution. Aurore hoped Solange would look to the cousin as a big sister, but she did not.
