Summary

Part Three is titled An Egg the Color of Dragon Blood. In Chapter 31, they swim all day, leaving the water only after they stop seeing blasts of fire from dragons flying overhead. They have trouble catching food in this open environment but Clay eventually catches a “large, warty pig” and Tsunami catches fish. They share that and Sunny eats carrots. They discuss that Burn is chasing them because she fears the outcome of the prophecy. Glory suggests Blister to be a better choice but says she knows she does not have a say. Clay does not have a chance to ask what she means. They discuss the merits of Blister and Blaze, and Clay feels “small” compared to this task. Clay fears Glory is angry but they all go to sleep.
