Summary

In Chapter 22, Scarlet takes Clay, Tsunami, and Starflight to Peril's room. Clay notices Scarlet's portrait is no longer on the wall. Scarlet notices as well. Scarlet orders Peril to sleep in the arena and to burn the tongue out of any dragon who sings. Peril is angry, but leaves. Burn says Scarlet should kill the three dragonets to put an end to the prophecy. Scarlet says she wants them to fight during her hatching day party the following day. Scarlet says that watching the dragonets die will kill the spirit of those hoping the prophecy will come true, but killing them in private will not. Scarlet traps them in the room with burning rocks.
