Summary
Shirah mourned the lost of her daughter because she believed she was the one who caused her death by following Eleazar. She wondered for the first time if she had been wrong not to love Nahara’s father or at least offer her loyalty in return for his. She made an oath of vengeance against the Romans and offered herself to God in exchange for keeping the rest of her children safe. Because the Romans had determined they couldn’t reach Masada using the Snake Path, they decided to make their own road. The people in the fortress were amazed that the Romans were able to build their road so high and so quickly.
