Hig wonders if the old codger is angry enough to shoot him if he comes down the ladder to them. He can see from a survivalists point of view what a good set up they have. He backs up further, suddenly exhausted and trying to think things through, but dozes off. The next thing he is aware of is a man ordering him to back up and out of his hiding place. The old man frisks him and relieves him of his grenades and pistol while Hig stands there feeling like an idiot. He ties Hig's hands together and marches him to the ladder.
