Summary

In Chapter 6, Mago stays home from school because she has her period for the first time. When Papi comes home, he gives her a lashing with his belt. Reyna shouts at him to stop and explains that it is because she has become a señorita. In Chapter 7, Reyna is sent home from school because she has lice and her Papi surprises her by helping comb her hair rather than beating her.
