Chanda Prescod-Weinstein
Chanda Prescod-Weinstein holds multiple degrees, and is a professor of both astronomy and physics, as well as of women’s and gender studies, at the University of New Hampshire. She grew up in East Los Angeles, but was bused to schools in a better part of the city. She graduated from a magnet high school at the age of sixteen and got her bachelor’s degree in physics and astronomy from Harvard. She then earned a masters in Astronomy at the University of California, Santa Cruz and a PhD at the University of Waterloo, in Ontario, Canada. Before becoming a professor, she worked as fellow at NASA, the MLK fellow at MIT, and a researcher at the University of Washington.
