Vince grew up in the rough, inner city of Compton, California, on Los Angeles' south side. Every day Vince had to fight for his life beating off gang attacks in deteriorating neighborhoods. One day Vince is hit by a bullet while waiting for the ice cream truck and bullets had been fired into his home before. Eventually Vince wins the respect of some of the gang members and his life is a little easier but he turns into a juvenile delinquent and is picked up for stealing.
