Summary
Fragments is a story containing fragments of overheard conversations. The narrator follows an unnamed husband and the overheard conversations heard by him. The husband started off in a bar, eavesdropping on a helicopter pilot’s conversation. He exited the bar on receiving a phone call from his wife, Katy. He soon realized that she had accidentally called him as he overheard her talking to a man with a familiar voice. He was able to interpret from their conversation that she had been cheating on him with this man. He realized that he had somehow already known that this had been occurring. When she returned home that night he was already asleep and she had left by the time he woke up.
