Summary

Ferris’ short story The Breeze starts out with Sarah, standing on her balcony feeling a spring breeze. This breeze elicited a feeling in her, one of feeling very alive and an urgency to not waste this day. She went inside and asked her husband, Jay, what he wanted to do. He responded in turn asking her what she wanted to do. The story then follows different paths, interspersing different possibilities of what turn the day could take.

In the first scenario, they went to Central Park for a picnic, had sex behind the trees and then met up with their friends at a beer garden.
