Summary
The Pilot follows the inner thoughts of the anxious Leonard, a writer trying to make it in L.A. Leonard was anxious that he had not heard back from Kate Lotvelt, the successful writer of a TV show, Death in the Family. Kate had invited him in a group email to her party two weeks ago and he had responded with what he now considered to be a long winded email. He regretted not just sending a quick response. Due to the lack of reply, Leonard now worried that Kate had accidentally invited him by hitting “All Contacts” (Location 634). When the night of the party had arrived and he had still not received a confirmation email, he continued to panic, as he believed this to be “part of the protocol” ( Location 650).
