Summary
When Chapter 19 opens, Hannah is alone, standing before a door marked 4N. She interprets this as four for the four members of her family, and N for New Rochelle. She looks behind herself, and sees a large table piled with food, around which sit seven adults and a small boy. An old man asks Hannah if sees him coming, and Hannah whispers that nobody is coming. Her Aunt Eva tells her to sit down, in a chair Hannah knows was reserved for the prophet Elijah. She sits, and Eva notices her staring at the tattoo on Eva's arm. Eva asks if Hannah wants her to talk about it, but instead, Hannah describes each number the same way Rivka described her own number.
