Summary
Ian returns home to find a note on his bed requesting his presence at 11 p.m. that night. He assumes the note is left by Charlie, and this gives him hope since “all thoughts on Patmos eventually lead to Charlie” and Ian is being pestered by Charlie’s family, friends, and the police (291). Ian again tries raising the question of a potential real relationship with Louise, but she only says that they will talk about it in a week before she heads back to the States. After a lousy dinner, Ian goes to his meeting.
