In "A Servant of Lucifer," the Warrens explain that a diabolical attack is one that is done by not just demonic spirits, but the hierarchy of satanism, including devils. These creatures show themselves as human images of devils to avoid revealing their true form, and to cause doubt about the sanity of witnesses. Also, the Warrens point out that those who experience diabolical attacks either spend much time in therapy, or turn their lives around for the good of God.
