Summary

Claymore took Burly’s truck. He hoped the cops wouldn’t think he killed Burly. He recalled Alabaster’s question: “What happens if someone finds a way to stop death?” (213) He called the phone number that Alabaster had given him. When Alabaster answered Claymore told him that his sister was trying to kill him. Alabaster told him to come immediately to the address on the sheet of paper.

Alabaster’s “father” answered the door. A smile was frozen on his face. The house was meticulous. Everything looked like it just came out of plastic wrap. Alabaster came in the room and told Claymore to ignore his companion who was not his father but rather a Mistform that Alabaster created to pose as his parent so no one would ask questions.
