Summary
Dr. Claymore, who was selling his latest book, asked the audience what happened when one dies. A freckled-faced kid thought he had the answer. Claymore figured that the kid was too young and rattled to actually provide a response but he was surprised. The kid responded that no one knew what happens. He reproached Claymore about his continual criticism of any idea about afterlife. After a brief pause, Claymore responded that he, like everyone, was looking for the answer.
After he left the stage, Claymore scowled. He was a visionary and resented being paraded about from one event to another. His fans disgusted him and most of them didn’t even understand his work. The hostess of the event, Mrs. Lamia, praised his performance. It was the first sellout they had for an author. Mrs. Lamia was a huge woman...
