Summary

Halcyon explained that the creatures lured Luke and Thalia there to ease his loneliness and to subsist on any rations they brought with them. He had to cooperate with the creatures or else he would starve. Halcyon gave them the bad news that when it was eating time at sunset, the creatures, who are remarkably strong and can’t be fooled, would drag them out and kill them. The demigods would be dinner.

Halcyon had a laptop and began using it to communicate with Luke and Thalia so the monsters couldn’t hear their conversation. He typed that the other demigods hadn’t been led their by the goat, they had come seeking the treasure. Thalia exclaimed that the treasure must have been why Zeus sent her there.
