Gramma's House

This is where Greg, his parents, and his brothers are living when the novel opens, with the entire family staying in the basement. The author barely describes the setting but there are some images and scenes that provide more details, specifically of the basement. For example, Greg's family is supposed to stay in the basement when Gramma's friends are visiting. Rodrick warms up pizza in the dryer. Greg also describes that he and Rodrick must sleep on a futon together.

The Motorhome

Greg and his family spend some time in a motor home once owned by Uncle Gary. This is a traditional motor home and Greg describes the sleeping arrangements which include that he and Rodrick again have to share a bed. He says that situation is not much better than in their Gramma's basement. The table turns into a bed, which is where Greg's parents sleep...
