Chapters 58 and 59 Summary
Janson leads Thomas through the building to a bathroom, so Thomas can freshen up. Thomas uses this opportunity to prepare the device. As they continue, Thomas asks Janson if he'll ever get to meet Chancellor Paige.
They enter through an unmarked door into a room with two of Janson's associates. Thomas finds out that he's the final candidate because of Thomas's tendency for free thinking and rebelling. Janson reveals that they need Thomas's brain.
Chapters 58 and 59 Analysis
WICKED is going to have to kill Thomas in order to get to his brain. While they have to keep Thomas alive for a certain amount of time, eventually the final experiment will kill Thomas. Thomas represents the sacrifice necessary to save the rest of the human race from the disease.
