Chapter 9 Summary

Thomas dreams about his mother and father. He realizes they both have the Flare. He dreams about the Flare and WICKED arriving to study the Kill Zone, which is the human brain. The government official that stands before Thomas and his mother says that Thomas is immune. Thomas's mother allows him to go with the official.

The next morning, the guards enter. They say they are giving them their memories back anyway. Newt tries to fight the guards. Janson says they don't have a choice in the matter. Minho ends up talking Thomas and Newt into going, trying to make it sound as if they are being cooperative. They lead them to a room. Thomas gives his friends a signal.
