Chapter 7 Summary

Rat Man returns. Newt and Thomas decide not have the swipe removed. Thomas is surprised when Frypan decides to have the swipe removed. Minho also decides not to have his swipe removed. Those who decide not to have their swipe removed are escorted into a different room—one that looks similar to the original room.

In this room, Thomas sees Brenda. She whispers into Thomas's ear that they shouldn't trust anyone except Chancellor Paige. When Teresa enters the room, she seems to detest Brenda. Armed guards arrive to escort Thomas, Minho and Newt back to their rooms to dwell on their decisions until testing begins again the following morning.
