Chapter 2 Summary

The Rat Man enters Thomas's room. The Rat Man talks to Thomas about how he knew what the plan was. The plan is to study the brains of humans like Thomas that have the Flare so they can try to create a cure for the disease. The Rat Man says Thomas is receiving good news today.

The Rat Man says that even though the Flare lives in every part of Thomas's body, he is immune to the disease. For this reason, the rate says everyone hates him and other "Munies" like Thomas who are immune to the disease.
