Part 3 Summary

Part three, Notes from the Dead Zone contains letters from Johnny as well as follow up details to complete the story.

The first letter is to Herb. In the letter, Johnny explains everything about Stillson. Johnny knows that it sounds crazy but Herb has seen enough to know that his son is telling the truth. Johnny finally reveals what he saw in the vision of Stillson. There would be an all out nuclear war that starts in South Africa. What might have started out as a war between two or three countries ends up involving twenty countries or more plus various terrorist groups. Johnny reminds Herb of Vera's warning not to run away from his duty. That is exactly what Johnny was doing in Phoenix.
