Summary
In Chapter 8, Liselle was grateful when she heard the guests conversing honestly. Soon the niceties devolved into political arguments. To diffuse the tension, Liselle proposed her "Table question" game (42). She devised a list of questions beforehand, and chose one to ask the table. Tonight she asked, "What's your greatest fear that's also your stupidest" (43)? When Liselle's turn came, she found herself thinking of Selena.
In Chapter 9, after leaving the infirmary, Liselle and Selena "spent their first weekend together" (46). On Monday morning, Liselle watched Selena sleep. She wondered where Selena had come from. Then she "suddenly felt afraid," worrying that Selena might become attached (47). Later, Selena told Liselle the white lesbians on campus called her "The Wolf" (47). Liselle was offended. Selena comforted her.
