Summary

In Chapter 27, the NightWings are screaming in fear and anger, believing the RainWings will kill them at the other end of the tunnel. Starflight announces Queen Battlewinner is dead. Greatness says accepting Glory as their queen is “the only way for our tribe to survive. Starflight promises Glory will be a good queen. A NightWing named Mightywings says he will pledge loyalty to Glory, adding “It has to be better than this” (220). Greatness says she trusts Glory. Fatespeaker points out the erupting volcano. Mightywings shouts “Queen Glory,” and others follow his lead. Starflight realizes this tribe has always considered itself superior and RainWings as useless, but they are now bowing to a RainWing. Tsunami arrives and worries the NightWings cannot be trusted. Sunny arrives and thinks the plan is brilliant. Starflight realizes he set this in motion without worrying about what others...
