Summary
"The Story of Of" is a similar narrative to that of the first short story. It begins with Norma, who is again the first person narrator, arranging chicken bones on her plate at lunch. Her sister-in-law Damica and Damica’s baby is at lunch with Norma. Norma talks about things changing a bit each time. The waitress appears and Norma asks for walnuts, which prompts Damica to give her a doubting look. Norma and Damica eat lunch together every day, while they do not talk much, Norma enjoys them. If she was not at lunch with Damica, she would at home on her computer reading what women have posted on the Trying To Conceive website.
