Summary
"Love Machine" begins with two soldiers who live in the bottom of a nuclear missile silo. Dwight and Wayne, who is the first person narrator, have alternating shifts in order to wait for a signal that would tell them to launch a nuclear warhead. They discuss the moment that would change their world forever and how instead of hiding in their silo, they would climb out and watch the world die. However, the call never came during their military duty. Wayne wants to remember their last night together in the silo but something prevents him from recalling the memory fully, all he knows that they loved each other but could not talk about it.
After the military, Wayne went into the FBI but he still misses Dwight sometimes. Wayne has flourished in the FBI and is now on his current assignment named Operation...
